Final Fantasy XIII?! I think so

So I recently borrowed FFXIII off of a friend.  I've been trying to buy it for a while, since I had a $20 gift card at HMV (I hate buying at HMV, but my brother got me a gift for Christmas that I already had [typical brother], so I took it back and got in-store credit), but right when I tried to get it, the price almost doubled and the gift card made really no impact of me purchasing it there or elsewhere...so I waited for it to come down.

Anyway, I waited a while until I asked my friend if I could borrow it.  I got it this past Saturday.  As of yesterday, I had invested about 53 hours into it and am already post game.  It's a lot of fun, and it made me fall in LOVE with gunblades again.  Infact, I now NEED a replica of Lightnings gunblade in this game.  Possibly even her dagger.

Anybody else play this game and love it?  Tell me your thoughts!  I don't think it's the BEST FF out there, but it was definitely a lot of fun to play, and I get really emotionally attached to characters, so sobby stories always pull me in.  Any other games that you think would be worth while playing?  Leave a comment so I know some (I have a Wii and 360, so on either of those systems).

Sorry Again =(

Hey everyone!

I've been away for a while trying to finish up some homework from school.  It's my reading week now, which means I have a week off, but I had an assignment that was still due yesterday.  Painful trying to get everything done =(.  I've got 5 courses and an honours project to handle this term, which is much more work than I could hope for...so I do apologize if I disappear randomly again throughout the next few weeks.

More news, my school may go on strike now.  Well, not the entire school, but the TA's are.  We find out March 14th if the university and the TA's union can form a deal.  If they can't, then there will be a strike...worst case scenario, I have to wait until later next year to finish my courses and actually graduate.  Best case scenario, they come to an agreement and end this nonsense now.  Here's for hoping.

Anyway, has anyone else had experience of dealing with a strike?  I'm concerned about me actually graduating and what impact it can have (current job offers can get taken away, etc).  If you have experience, leave a comment about it!  If you don't, tell me how shitty my situation is, or tell me it'll get better!

Thanks guys and gals, and once again, sorry for the delay >,<

The Universe Is Awesome

Hey everyone!

I just wrote an Astronomy Exam this morning, and I must say, that is one of my favourite classes this term (besides being at 8 in the morning).  Just curious if anybody else has studied Astronomy and have an opinion on it.  I'll post an example midterm later on today if I can get around to it so everyone can test their knowledge of our Universe.

Sorry Everybody...

Greetings fellow bloggers and dedicated followers (and stalkers alike). I have to first apologize for my lack of posting for the last few days. My midterms have started (first was on a Saturday [yesterday], OMGWTFBBQ?!) and I've noticed I have very little time to make good posts. I know it's not a great excuse for not posting anything at all, but I hope you guys and gals can forgive my disappearance.

Now that that is out of the way, I'm going to give you guys a run-down on all my geeky music, and see if any of you will enjoy it as much as I do.

I've been following a few youtube channels, and a couple (literally in this case) that had caught my ears and impressed me with their musical talents and nerdy parody/original songs. So, for your pleasure, here are a couple songs by these two folks.

Lumos Flies is about the love between Ron and Hermione and is a parody over Fireflies.

Trainers in Love is actually one of my favourites by them. They sing about Ash and Misty from the Pokemon and, I have to say, I'm a HUGE Pokemon fan, so this is just amazing.

Staying with the Pokemon topic, Alex Day wrote a really amusing song about Pokemon and how they've changed a ton. Check it out, it's called Pokemon, What Happened To You?

Any Doctor Who fans out there? Well do I have a song for YOU! It's called An Awful Lot of Running and the songs by Chameleon Circuit.

So I'm sure a lot of you have already heard of this song, as the group The Guild even has a youtube series up. If you haven't already, check them out! The one song that got me into them was Do You Wanna Date My Avatar. Not into geeky music but love watching humourous geeky banter? Then just check out their actual series. They only have two songs that I know of.

I'm almost positive EVERYONE has watched this one before, but for those who haven't, it's worth the watch! Geek and Gamer Girls is a bunch of girls (and Seth Green) singing about a ton of different games and saying how they're here to kick some ass (and show some, as you can see in the video), as well as all other things nerdy. It's also a plus that all the girls are quite attractive.

So yes, I hope this is a worthy post for everyone, and I apologize in advance for not being able to post a lot in the future, but hopefully after midterms I'll be able to give you a full review of how the week went.

Also, if anybody has any other videos that they think I'll like, leave a comment with the link!

CRTC Delays The Cap

Fellow Canadians (and everyone else who feels pity for our upcoming cap on our internet), we have made a small jump into correcting this.  Konrad von Finckenstein, the Chairman of the CRTC, has said that the cap will be pushed back 60 days from when it was originally supposed to be implemented on March 1.

There is currently a petition up and running on Openmedia.ca.  As quoted from CTV News, "if the CRTC doesn't backtrack, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Industry Minister Tony Clement will take the matter into their own hands, a senior official told CTV on Wednesday."

So Canadians, let us band together to stop this monstrous thing from happening.  I don't know about you, but I don't want to be charged by the byte of data I use.  Below is the petition going around.  I would like everyone to look into this if they haven't already and seriously consider signing the petition.

Leave your comments on the thoughts of this ban and tell me what you think.

Finally, A Day of Rest

My school has the ABSOLUTE WORST reputation for staying open in the worst conditions.  We've had anthrax scares a few years back and half the classes were still running.  We've recently had an elevator explode, as one can read in a below post, and we just blocked off the elevator in the end and let people in to every other part of the school for classes.  Hell, I even remember what was, I believe, 2 years ago, there was a giant storm with tons of snow coming and Brock was the only place open in the city (stayed open even past the city buses being canceled).  So for me to have a snow day is a HUGE deal.

God damned school
However, having a snow day does have it's downsides.  Like, say getting up at 6 (I have 8am classes every morning this term, and it takes two buses to get to my school...so unless I want to be late, I have to leave my house by 7) this morning just to realize I don't have classes.  After realizing that, I was already wide awake, so going back to sleep wasn't an option.

I've texted (or facebooked) all of the people that I know who have 8am class with me and told them to stay in (living the furthest away means waking up the earliest), and some were quite shocked that the school was closed, mainly due to the fact that, at that time, there was barely any wind and maybe a centimetre of snow.

As for my plans for today, I plan to catch up on some homework that I desperately need to finish up.  Two assignments due tomorrow and a midterm this Saturday (that's right...Caturday for me is a day of mourning this week), means I really need to read these books for these classes.

So to my readers, maybe I'll post later on once I finish my work, and maybe have a bit of a rant about how LaTeX is much better than any other program out there for mathematics based stuff.  Tell me what you think.

P.S.  I changed my blogs look.  Tell me what you think, or if you have another idea of what I could do, please tell.

Mathematical Pi

One of my current favourite songs!

Marble Hornets Entry #2

This is where he describes a weird man that he saw.  Hope everyone is enjoying these!  If you can think of other videos for me to post (comedy, game reviews, etc.) leave a comment!
